Whether through a job, a ministry internship, or continuing education, After College is designed to help you move forward strategically as you live on mission through church planting.
Who is After College For?
After College is for GenSend alumni and other young adults who want to explore their next step in living sent through work, ministry, or school while joining and strengthening a Send Network church plant.
Why After College?
You do not have to go through After College to live on mission after college. But After College exists to help young adults do that more strategically.
Through After College, we may be able to help you:
- Think through whether work, ministry, or school is the best fit
- Explore possible connections to a Send Network church plant
- Think through the logistics of a potential move
- Connect with field staff or church planters who may be able to help as you discern next steps
We especially encourage young adults to consider places with significant gospel need and strategic church planting opportunity.
Three Ways to Engage
After College includes three possible next steps.
What’s Common Across All Three
- Interest Form: Start by completing the After College Interest Form.
- Timing: We encourage students to begin exploring After College early in their senior year.
- Guidance: GenSend can help you think through fit, next steps, and possible church planting connections.
- Duration: We encourage young adults to think in terms of meaningful investment, not just a short stop. For many, that may mean a two-year commitment.
Marketplace Missionary
Get a job, join a Send Network church plant, and live on mission in your workplace and city.
- Who: Young adults who want to join a Send Network church plant and live on mission through their work.
- What: Use your job as a strategic platform for mission while investing in the life and mission of a Send Network church plant.
Ministry Internship
Serve as an intern with a Send Network church plant and grow in ministry experience, leadership, and calling.
- Who: Young adults who want to serve with a Send Network church plant and grow in ministry experience, leadership, and calling.
- What: Serve in a ministry internship with a Send Network church plant while being discipled, developed, and immersed in real church planting ministry.
- Support: If a church plant chooses to provide a paid internship, that would be determined by the church plant, not by After College.
Continuing Education
Pursue further education, join a Send Network church plant, and live on mission in your city.
- Who: Young adults who want to pursue further education while serving alongside a Send Network church plant.
- What: Continue your education while being meaningfully rooted in a Send Network church plant and living on mission where you live, learn, and play.

No. GenSend alumni are often a natural fit for After College, but other young adults who share this vision may also be a strong fit.
After College is designed to happen alongside a Send Network church plant. Some cities may be a stronger fit than others depending on your goals, timing, and opportunities. This is something we can help you think through.
No. After College does not provide a salary or guaranteed financial support. Marketplace Missionaries support themselves through their job. If you pursue a Ministry Internship, any pay would depend on the Send Network church plant you serve with. At this time, After College does not provide a stipend.
No. After College does not place you into a job, internship, or school program. We may be able to help you think strategically, explore a church planting connection, and discern next steps, but you are responsible for securing your own job, school enrollment, or approved ministry internship.
Yes. The Ministry Internship option is specifically designed for young adults serving with a Send Network church plant.
Yes. After College is designed to help young adults join and strengthen a Send Network church plant. That means you won’t simply attend. Your exact role will vary depending on your context, gifts, and season, but participants should expect to invest in the church, build relationships, and live on mission where they live, work, and play.
Yes. We encourage students and young adults to explore this with pastors, collegiate leaders, and other trusted spiritual mentors as they discern their next step.
